The Ministry of Charles & Joyce

We have been actively involved in ministry since our teenage years, which became a shared passion once we were married. Our first home was also the base for a large inter-church youth work called “The Loft.” It was centred in Redruth, Cornwall and grew to more than 200 young people. Looking back we can see that we had a mini revival as the work impacted both the local girls and boys secondary schools, and we saw a great number coming to living faith in Jesus.

It has constantly been our great desire to see people come to a living faith in Jesus, but more than that we have sought to bring new believers to maturity and to know the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives and to live in a dimension of faith.

Our whole ministry was transformed after we were filled with the Holy Spirit many years ago. We have seen God work mightily in healing and miraculous life transformation. We believe that signs and wonders should be a hallmark of ministry in the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that effectiveness in ministry comes from an intimate relationship with Jesus, and sensitivity to the voice of God. The Leaders Weeks that Charles led during the time with Colin Urquhart, were focussed on leading each person into a deeper and vital relationship with God. Joyce has a passion for teaching people to hear God’s voice. Our ministry is centred upon the heart and not the head. We are not minimising importance of study and knowledge of God’s word, but we know that effectiveness pivots on living relationship with God and not experience.

A recurring theme of our teaching is “Christ in You.”  The key verse for this teaching is Galatians 2:20, “I have been crucified with Christ, I no longer live but Christ lives in me.”  We need to die so that Christ can live. This is life transforming as so many people are trying to be better Christians when what they need to do is die and let the Jesus within live.

Many years ago we published Bible Reading plans to help people to read the Bible in a regular and systematic way. These Bible Plans have gone around the world and continue to help people to place God’s word at the centre of their devotional life and ministry.

We are actively involved in the ministry of our local church Living Waters, but since handing over the leadership three year ago, we are free to travel. We go regularly to Africa and Germany, have recently been in Central Asia, and minister around the UK.
